The growing interest for various means of generating cheap and sustainable energy can be the result of people’s desire to have cheap electricity. But there must be something more than how much we all want to save on energy costs. One good reason for this is also the fact that there’s a growing concern among all of us about how the environment is affected by the traditional means of getting electric power. The continuous usage of fossil fuels is making ‘global warming’ inevitable and its effects worse.

By using sustainable or green electricity, we can actually hit two birds with one stone. Not only are we going to save on electricity bills, we are also doing Mother Nature a huge favor.
Is Green Electricity Cheap Electricity?
It is not difficult at all to realize that bigger populations result in more demand and usage of electricity. In short, as human beings grow in number, there is also an increase in the consumption of energy. And with the way we are generating electricity, like through fossil fuels, it is quite terrifying to think of what the world and the environment would be in the future. The best solution to all these problems is the use of green or renewable energy.
So what exactly is green electricity? Green or renewable energy is defined as the kind of electricity which is generated from non-traditional sources. Renewable energy comes from alternative natural sources, such as the wind, water and the sun. This type of energy is called renewable simply because these sources are inexhaustible. This kind of energy is called Green simply because it is not at all a source of greenhouse gases. Conventional sources of electricity, like coal, fossil fuels, and natural gas do generate huge amounts of greenhouse gas, which is explained as the main cause of global warming. In conclusion, there are just so many reasons why we all should support the campaign on using green energy, not only to get cheap electricity, but also to help save our Earth.
